Caring for your children’s teeth.

By developing a good oral hygiene routine from a young age it will allow your children the best chance of keeping their adult teeth healthy.

It’s important to get your baby used to brushing their teeth as part of their daily routine. Once their teeth have started to come through, using a baby toothbrush, place a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste onto the brush and gently brush the teeth. The easiest way to brush a baby’s teeth is to sit them on your knee, with their head resting against your chest.

It can be difficult to make sure your children are brushing correctly, be sure to supervise them until you are happy they are brushing well enough themselves. It may also help for your child to see you brushing as an example and you can use phone aps especially made for tooth brushing that can make it a fun experience.
We also offer unflavoured toothpaste at the practice as an alternative as some children dislike a minty flavor.

It’s also important for your child to have a healthy diet and regular dental visits to maintain their good oral health – for information and advice you can visit our website – https://thetreatmentcentre.co.uk/blog/ and read our other blogs.
