Dental Hygiene

If you are not registered with The Treatment Centre but you would like to benefit from our dental hygienist services, you can now book a direct access dental hygiene appointment.

Our hygienist’s main work is to prevent and treat gum disease. This includes professionally cleaning your teeth by removing plaque and tartar (usually called a ‘scale and polish’ or a prophylaxis’). However, perhaps our hygienist’s most important role is showing you the best way to keep your teeth free of plaque. Plaque is a sticky coating that forms constantly on your teeth. We will also give advise about diet and about preventing tooth decay.

Our hygienists can help if

  • You have stained teeth
  • You have gum disease
  • You struggle to maintain good dental hygiene
  • You need advice on keeping your teeth and gums healthy

Standard clean £78

Our standard clean involves the removal of plaque and calculus from the teeth and gums. This is achieved through the use of an ultrasonic scaler or hand scaling instruments. A standard clean will help you keep your gums healthy and teeth looking shiny and smooth.

Enhanced clean with airflow £98

This treatment offers a longer appointment length than our standard clean. Our hygienist will use our airflow technology throughout the appointment to provide a thorough mouth clean. Our airflow technology is excellent in reaching all those hard-to-reach areas. Disclosing tablets are used to ensure all visible plaque is removed. With our airflow technology you will see instant results for a brighter smile.

Periodontal therapy: Quarter mouth from £120; Half mouth from £180; Full mouth from £360

For patients that require a deeper clean to address periodontal gum disease our practice offer a range of long length appointments to suit your needs. A periodontal appointment involves a detailed clean to remove plaque and calculus from the teeth. For patients that have sore or sensitive gums the use of local anaesthetic may be used to ensure you are comfortable throughout. Our hygienist will use their expertise to help advise your at home dental care to help improve your overall oral hygiene.
