Ashley swims around St. Michael’s Mount for the Chestnut Appeal!

We are very proud to say that Ashley- our dental nurse- completed her charity swim around St Michael’s Mount over the weekend, currently having raised 308% of her target! Wow!

Having never swam this distance in the sea, she trained hard with the help of our Hygienist, Kay. Ashley decided to take the plunge and swim the 1.5 miles in support of this great cause. She made it back to the beach in a time of approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes and was rewarded -in true Cornish style- with a pasty! Vanessa, our dentist was waiting at the finish line in true style with her personalised support t-shirt. Great effort!

The Chestnut Appeal is a fantastic local charity which makes an enormous difference for those affected by prostate cancer in Devon and Cornwall.

The last two sea swims have raised over £15,000 for the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer. The raised money helps the charity provide the very latest equipment for faster diagnosis of prostate cancer at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. With the support of the public they now hope to install others in Torbay and Truro, too.

Well done, Ash!
